The State of Financial Wellness for Hispanic Americans

In this special episode for Hispanic Heritage Month, Fareeda Griffith, Managing Director for the Wharton Coalition for Equity and Opportunity, is joined by Wharton professor David Musto and Surya Kolluri, head of TIAA Institute. The discussion delves into the state of financial wellness among Hispanic Americans, discussing the behaviors, attitudes, and systemic challenges that shape financial outcomes for this community.

Drawing insights from the TIAA Institute’s recent report, The State of Hispanic Financial Wellness in the United States, the conversation highlights key findings and explores potential solutions for closing the retirement and savings gaps that disproportionately affect Hispanic Americans.
The conversation also highlights Finiverse, an app designed to help students understand the real costs of higher education and plan for the financial impact of decisions like taking out student loans and choosing an academic or career field.
