Private equity investment in the U.S. healthcare sector has grown significantly over the past decade, peaking in 2021 with $100 billion in deals, though it slowed in 2022–2023 due to economic factors. Several states, including Pennsylvania, are now exploring regulatory measures to increase oversight and transparency in private equity healthcare transactions.
